If an ex would cause enough strain on you to impact your ability to have a good time, absolutely do not invite. If you think you could spend the party ignoring him easily and he's in the back of your mind at all times, consider inviting him.

You can invite whoever you want. After that behavior in your apartment for six months, he should understand if you actively avoid him at all costs.
