Disagree. I have no problem with people who only watch sports when there's a big event on; just as I don't have a problem with non-sportsfans watching the Superbowl. And I don't have a problem with people going to the pub / Pioneer Square / wherever for the atmosphere when there's a big sports game on, even though they don't understand or care about the sport.

However, I do have a problem when those people suddenly act like they deeply care about it. Embrace your casual fanness, peoples!

(and I also have a problem with people who think their own obsessions are acceptable, but other people's obsessions aren't - see comics, video games, Justin Bieber, etc)

My problem is that when am at a sports bar or at an Irish Pub (most likely), and by accident there´s a big sports game going on the ambience turns violent and am prone to be beaten.
8
Irish people in Irish Pubs don´t like their Rugby linebackers to be called "Side Playing Sissys".

A resounding YES to #3!

But I went to UO, so I can say GO DUCKS whenever I want. (Usually that is every couple of years.)
10
It's like that was written for me specifically.
11
The celebrities wearing UO hats and proclaiming their sudden love for the school is re-DONK-ulous.
12
If the Ducks get blown out, tomorrow's headline will have to be "Whattauburn!"--or maybe "Auburning Sensation."
13
Since most of the Ducks fandom on the GMN thread was me, I'll go ahead and let you know I'm a third-generation UO grad and lifelong Oregonian.

So suck it.

Is that like all the shitwad 4 eyed fucking tools i see with their "vintage " blazer t shirt and black hoodies.? Never mind that they jumped on the Blazer bandwagon last year. That does'nt stop them for endlessly going on about a team that most of them really don't understand ANY better the the sport itself. Nor does it stop them from demanding the Blazer game be put on the bar TV no matter WHAT other event is taking place. Just like the 110Lb hipster tool last night who demanded the National Title game be switched to the blazer game. Are you fucking serious? In mid fucking season? He left rather rapidly after the look I gave him. I bet 90 % of these greasy nerds could'nt make a free throw on an 8 ft fucking hoop for Christ sake. Stick to The Matador, etc, you dorks. I waiting for some douchebag to try this during the Superbowl. I'm sure there are at least a couple of your readers who are self entitled enough to try and pull that one, eh Humphrey? When did the new Nerd/dork/ trend of becoming a Blazer fan start anyway? I did'nt think those tools liked sports anyway? Get off Ducks fan Humphrey.

Please wait...
