1) Fuck the Oscars.
2) True Grit was awesome and should win everything.
3) I suppose I have to see the stupid Social Network.
4) I made it about forty minutes into Scott Pilgrim before giving up.
5) Exit Through the Gift Shop's first half was great. Not so much the second half, but the mindfuck alone makes up for the ham-handedness (OR WAS IT? See? Fuck. Did they- was it?)
6) I don't think I saw anything else that was nominated, so: ANY award that doesn't go to True Grit shall be awarded to Machete.
I'm w/ @Alison on this, where was the nomination for Elle Fanning. Another gripe about Somewhere being dissed, no nomination for cinematography for Harris Savides?
I was disappointed with the Best Original Score category, despite being someone who says that he doesn't care about Oscars. Apparently the scores for both Black Swan and True Grit didn't get nominated because they were both based on pre-existing pieces of music. Black Swan had tons of Swan Lake (that was sort of necessary, don't you think?) and True Grit's score was based on the hymn that plays in the end. It's terrible, because the music in both of those films was better than most of the audiophonic wallpaper that plays in the background of movies.
And it's fucking criminal that Daft Punk didn't get nominated.
True Grit is over-rated. It's a fine western, but nothing special for the genre. It's clearly a step down from the Coens' better films. Despite Marky Mark not being the actor Hollywood wants him to be, The Fighter is much better than you give it credit for.

@Colin - How DARE you walk out on Scott Pilgrim?
HOW DARE YOU ALL?

(P.S. I think Black Swan was FUCKING FANTASTIC, and should win "Best Film" AND "Best Animated Film." Fuck YOU, Toy Story 3!)
His music is haunting & soulful.
