Psst, Steve....she's on one of the funnier shows on tv called Parks and Recreation. It's in its second season (or maybe the third?). She was also in Scott Pilgrim. Good thing you don't write a column called I Love Television!

Quelle honte!

To those wondering, "THAT GUY" from the Wireless Toyz sketch was Kumail Nanjiani, a really fantastic stand up comic.
4
It seems like I can get by just by watching 1-2 clips of Portlandia month, but not the actual show. Sounds good to me.
5
I bet this was completely unintentional, but Fred's character in the second clip is an almost dead-on imitation of Randy Rappoport.
6
"Rapaport," that is...
7
So far, I still think the first episode was the best, although this week's was better than the previous one. I hope it gets better.
8
I'm fairly certain that's the same house from the Portland-filmed movie Thumbsucker.
9
Actually the house in the house-sitter scene used to be owned by a live-event production designer, but he moved back to the east coast a couple of years ago. I worked there on visual content for several world tours for major label music groups, for a month or two each time (out of the garage). I could pick that kitchen out of a lineup any time.
10
Was it the house in the movie Thumbsucker?
11
Whoops, meant "Also", not "Actually." - I honestly don't remember Thumbsucker that well, so possibly.
12
I have been watching Shameless and it seems funnier and more spot on about Portland than Portlandia. I have not seen any homeless or street kids on Portlandia yet.
13
Ah, got it. I thought you were non-responding to me, so I asked again! I'll have to re-watch that movie.
14
Aubrey Plaza was also in episode 2, in the bookstore sketch.

WTF (way to fail), Steve.

MEMORANDUM:

Portlandia is funny.
16
@TSW
I gave up on Parks & Rec after season one. You should've as well. (Don't believe the hype!)

@ROM
Of course I knew that, and I left it out for brevity's sake, which I know you prefer, but I sure as hell won't next time, because from now on I'm just gonna go on and on and on and on (and add a few extra Bieber posts besides) until blood drips out your ears. Reverse FAIL.

@Around
Re: that memo
Too long; didn't read.
17
Season 2 of Parks & Rec blows Season 1 out of the water. Good job, TV columnist. Durp.
18
Has Portlandia covered the Memorial Coliseum debacle yet?
19
@frankieb sure, because I'm sure Fred Armisen has a real clear grasp of urban renewal areas and TIF financing.
20
Were you offended today because Portlandia hit too close to home? Maybe. I laughed when I read the Portlandia did you read sketch on the Mercury :)
21
C's having a stroke!
22
@ C me too! Some people get butt hurt easily I guess:) If they made fun of me or my habits i'd be flattered

Please wait...
