I am a woman and I don't do this. I feel the same way as you about PEOPLE that talk/text/email on their phones while in the company of others... it's rude and irritating. I always leave the room if I need to talk on the phone because I hate it when people do that to me. The only difference between me and you is that I never associated a person's sex with that behavior... probably because I see it happen with both men and women. Good job on the sexism though.

If your date picks up the phone, you excuse yourself and leave. This is the universal signal that this is a crappy date and they will want it over so badly they will pick up the bill if you leave.

If you see a guy like this one leering at you, whip out your smart phone and pretend you're talking to someone else.

You know what else sucks? Airline food.
