Parking, meh. I'm taking the Max.

But please, for the love of our Timbers, will you please use the right logo?

"Try-storming"?

I pray this word does not catch on with people

'try-storming' is that based on the widely successful 'Leaf Tax' or another way of referring to Adams not listening to the public and doing what the hell we wants because he knows he has no chance in hell of getting re-elected.

So basically Fritz said, "let's continue to talk about this for the next month to make sure everyone who lives in the area gets to weigh in and has warm fuzzies about it."

Don't worry about the fact that there won't be parking for those residents during the first Timbers home game which is less than a month away. Way to lead Amanda, way to lead.

The Timbers give season ticket holders an option to choose if you want a trimet all day bus pass for each game day. I went with that, and I'm glad I don't have to worry about parking. Last season I parked and it was a nightmare.
I think it is a good idea to jack up the price on the meters.

I'll be taking the free Trimet pass as well. Why would you even bother trying to drive and park there? Downtown is hell for motorists.

As for the residents, well, what exactly were you expecting when you moved next door to a 20,000-seat stadium with no parking lot? "It's like those people in Kīlauea, Hawaii who build their houses on an active volcano, and then wonder why they have lava in the living room." -George Carlin

I don't know why so many people's brains don't work when they think about parking. If something is too cheap, people will use a lot of it. If you're already paying $50 for tickets and $5 a beer, what's $5 for parking? There will be no open parking spots anywhere near. There sure as hell weren't when we had a minor league soccer team; my friends either took the MAX or parked at our friend's apartment 15 blocks away and walked.

Oh, come on, I wish Adams and the Council would be honest. This is about revenue, period. If we cared about not "choking the downtown" we wouldn't have paid Paulson and his cronies millions to operate this stadium. Face it, there will be no parking during games no matter what the price, because out of 20000 fans there will always be enough who will pay to park nearby. What's next? Special zones, times and rates around the Fox when the next blockbuster movie opens? Around PSU when night classes are in session? Around churches on Sundays...oh wait, did that already!

Please wait...
