City of Portland: 'Bring us mo' bums!'

This will surely cut down the number of dealers and addicts in Old Town

Sadly, I have to agree with D 100%. I work with so many people using and/ abusing social services and am amazed at the number of people who come to Portland from other states without any plan to care for themselves and tell me they came here because of our social services. I you build it they will come. It is especially aggrivating to see some of these newer folks who then get on OHP when I am sure the working single mother working at the corner gas station has no insurance. Its sickening.

Look like Smirk likes her future digs. Wait Mercury staff will not be permitted with that clean and sober rule.

(That was just a commentary on the gate, not the facility as a whole.)

(Also, if it's Bud Clark Commons, new residents should be welcomed, perhaps, with a VHS copy of WELCOME TO WOOP WOOP.)

I am moving into the Bud Clark Center, I will be paying RENT over 200.00 a month I had to pass a criminal screening and eviction and property damage check. I am not a drug addict. I was born with a back problem and legally blind but it wasn't discovered until my teens. There are 1000s and 1000s AND 1000s of subsidized apartments in Portland. I am 54 and have never had help with my rent before, and have been homeless on and off since I was 16 and find your comments insulting. Their are section 8, HAP, Housing authority etc. housing that families go on for generations, homeless people are usually working people who are not on the dole and fall between all the cracks. Give them a break.................

I'm moving into the public housing part of the Bud Clark Center. I will be paying rent and just like all the other public housing complexes I had to pass an extensive background check. I am not a bum or a drug addict and I find your comments insulting. There are tens of thousands of subsidized housing units in Portland are you calling all those people bums too.
