Couldn't they just have armed guards in humvees next to their ships? That way I could still bike along the river and they could shoot anyone acting insecure dead.

Is it just the Americans who feel unsafe in Portland or do the Canadians want us to stay away also?

In the interest of their safety and security, in view of 9/11, let's not ask them back next year.

A microcosm of our lives properly documented. Thank you press corps!

They do have armed guards.

Just after chuckling to myself about the Jersey barriers dribbled along Naito this morning, I noticed a pair of camo-types under the Burnside Bridge carrying assault weapons.

time to put an end to fleet week.

According to bikeportland, bikes are banned from bridges and walkways near the ships. Cars and pedestrians are allowed though.

Driving around town tonight, I've seen a number of cops awkwardly blocking lanes and or one lane of a two way street. Portland is looking more like "Little East Berlin." The cops must have gotten into an especially good shipment of steroids this week.

Are they afraid of the Bubonic cats or the tweekers running the Rose Festival.

They also mess with boats using the River from the Hawthorne bridge to the Steel.

This is how it starts, and half of downtown will be a heavily-fortified "Green Zone" by October.

You just wrote this so you could use the term "seaman zoo".

I thought they just requested a glory hole wall with lots of holes for dicks.
