Really? The West Memphis 3 got released on Friday and just blog crickets?
2
@humanclock - I was going to include that but then didn't know if Portlanders knew about it. You think people here have been following the case? I'll add a link. Thanks for the suggestion!

Sarah,

I know quite a few people in town who've followed the case. The word's really spread through music. I'd be surprised if musicians older than mid to late twenties haven't heard about the case. Youngsters who haven't heard of it should be exposed. No offense but I've been hosting placenta night/Gall stone soup dinners at my house for years so this story should've made the cut.

Didn't that documentary "Paradise Lost" do well here?

Yes, but even if you think that Portlanders hadn't heard of the case...this is your chance to tell them! Had more reporters been bringing the case to the national stage all these years, we might not have needed the Celebrity Army to do it for us.

I would say that there are plenty of indie film goers here in town and most had seen or at least heard of the Paradise Lost films. Even at the mainstream level, Pearl Jam and Natalie Maines have done a lot to bring awareness about the WM3 case to their audiences.

When I posted about it on Facebook, the younger people in their 20-30's responded with excitement. I'm sure some of the older folks were wondering why I was "celebrating that those famous people got those child killers out of prison", but I'm sure some followed the links and are a bit more informed now about the case.

This whole WM3 deal reminds me of the hysteria about kiddie porn rings from about the same period - "Capturing The Freidmans".

Can vegans eat placenta?
8
@Todd, I wouldn't personally. But I won't speak for the rest of the vegans out there. My hesitation is mainly rooted in my gag reflex.
9
@Fruit Cup: If I had a dollar for every time I've heard that last sentence...

I thought the worlds oldest fossil was Al Davis? And some people actually do follow that happens beyond the confines of Portland. Crazy eh? So are you inferring that the Government thinks some Native tribes DO count?

Please wait...
