Bon Voyage, Ezra!

If you guys would like a replacement office pug, I have no problem offering up my wife's fuzzy, monkey-faced, football shaped bag of farts and snot rockets. I haven't checked with her yet as to whether I'm ALLOWED to try giving away her pug to a local newspaper, but I thought it the least I could do.

Good luck, Ezra. I'll make sure to catch at least one Blazers game at The Old Gold when the season resumes around 2013.

Sad! But happy for them both. SADHAPPY.
3
BLOCKS from the McAngryPants compound. LET THE STALKING BEGIN!!!1one
4
CONGRATZ NED! Boooo Ezra! YAY NEW BAR!
5
Good Luck Ezra!
6
Does this leave the Boat Cop position open? DIBS!

And Ezra, can I be on Old Gold's hacky sack frisbee team?
7
Here here! Congratulations all around.
8
If you'd had better coffee he never would've left. Good luck, Ezra, anyway. I'll drop some bucks at your place sometime.
9
A music joke for your departure -

We look forward to finding out if Ned is...BETTER THAN EZRA.

You're welcome, and good luck.
10
Ezra, your piece last year on Alex Chilton was the best I read anywhere. Great stuff. I sent it to many cousins and friends back in Memphis.

I'll miss your Blazer and Canzano coverage, but good luck with the new bar.
11
What's a Ned Lannamann?
12
Good luck Ezra! Ooh, and the bar is so close to my house!

I think Cocktails & Dreams would've been a better name but whatever, I'll still go.
13
Happy trails buddy. If your bar has an ornamental fern, I look forward to throwing up in it in the near future.

Ned: You don't have a bar yet, but I will happily throw up in the fern of your choosing.
14
Your stellar Blazers and music coverage will be missed, but I guess there won't be much to write about this "season" anyway. I look forward to seeing The Old Gold regularly top the Merc's best-ofs, based purely on merit and certainly not because of free drinks or anything.
15
Good luck! And ditto on comment #10

Ezra was one of the funniest, best writers here. Maybe I can try laughing at Steve's goiter instead.
17
Awe man. Not only are we going to be lacking a Blazers season, but now we're going to be lacking the one person on the editorial staff who actually cares about a lack of season. Lacking all around!
But three cheers for Ned!
18
DAMN, DAMN, DAMN!
19
I fully expect your new bar to have a heart tree.
20
(I did realize there was an L in the name, I just don't care).
21
DO NOT LET THE DOOR HIT YOU WHERE THE GOOD LORD SPLIT YOU.
22
Poor Bizarro Ezra!
23
First Bruce leaves Willamette Week, and now Olive leaves the Mercury. I do not like this trend one little bit.
24
¿¿¿¿¿¿¿POOOOOOOOORRRRR QUUUUUUEEEEEEEEE??????
25
Yay. Old Gold won't be too far from my place. I'll make sure to stop by and say hi sometime. Congrats, Ned!
26
I hope someone got you farewell flowers.
27
Second star to the right, and straight on till morning.
28
May your endeavors always be picante.
29
Too soon, Joneser.

Too soon.

Aw, I don't know what to say. (Especially to @Ezra Pace Caraeff, he's my new favorite!)

I'll still be posting here as a freelancer and once the Blazers season starts up again—the year 2037 with Cyborg Greg Oden starting at center—hopefully I'll be back on press row once again. Thanks again.

All the Better Than Ezra cracks are just, frankly, so good (ahowhowaho).

I'm not sure you know this Ezra, but your website doesn't have a lot of information. Especially the menu section.

I'm going to help you out. Put a vegan bowl on the menu. It's simple: black beans, rice, corn, tomatoes, lettuce and a chipotle-veganaise sauce. Charge $5 for it and call it the Fruit Cup. You can charge an extra $1 for avocado. Delicious, healthy and filling!
33
Please direct me to where I can apply for the Travel Editor vacancy.
34
Congrats to both of you!

Hipster leaves hipster publication to open yet ANOTHER white hipster bar in "NoPo"(despise that term, particularly from white middle class idiots). Hipsters to attend. Yawn.
PS I may have left out a hipster. Also, I did'nt use the word "vegan". I can't be perfect all the time folks. Well, good luck to him anyway, opening a bar is'nt easy.... I would know.
