"Serious citations" seems like kind of a stretch. According to that article, both of them added up to $600. And this is a Fortune 500 company we're talking about...

RE: warning to soldiers not to interact with stray animals

Incredible stress these young men and women are under.

I understand the health complication potentials raised by armed services command, but if connecting with an animal keeps them sane or in touch with some empathy and caring, then perhaps some would come home more intact and possibly maintain a professional engagement in the field. Too many stories coming back from the fronts of our citizen soldiers demonstrating a disdain and disregard for the people caught in the conflict.

Not trying to demonize the soldiers nor excuse the bad acts of anyone in the conflicts, just thinking that if they can survive the distraction of showing care for an animal, maybe they can shore up their humanity.

Also, why would they choose an acronym that sounds like "USA FUCK"? It'll cause a lot of confusion if we ever do create a federal agency with that name!

Back in the old days the Army had vet techs with Rabies shots for animals and medics with the 3 rabies shots a bitten soldier would need. I guess they spent all the money on contractors.

Many times in the field a smart dog, willy dolphin, or pigs driven through a minefield can save you life.
