THE ARREST OF DAVID ANTHONY BURGESS SHOWS THE OBVIOUS RACISM OF THE PORTLAND POLICE BUREAU. TO THEM, ALL BLACK MEN LOOK ALIKE. THEY REALLY WANTED TO ARREST CLIFTON BROOKS FOR PUNCHING A WINDOW, BUT JUST GOT THE WRONG GUY.
Not only did I get photos of the march, but the shot you used clearly shows a Cyclops standing in front of a tree. If the Weekly World News were still around I'd get big bucks for that.
"Another is that young occupiers are still struggling with the challenges of embracing, and trying to help, downtown's down-and-out in way that, they say, the government has not managed."
They shouldn't be trying to run a direct service agency, as noble as their intentions are. They are getting majorly distracted from the message by taking on the responsibility of serving the city's needy at the same time.
They're going to learn why the government and agencies can't fully "manage" these problems. Because it's really really really hard. At least it will be good dose of realism for a young generation of activists. Hopefully it will make them more pragmatic and effective in the future.
Not 100% certain it's the same guy, but the ages match and the pics look pretty damn similar...
Anyway, a David Anthony Burgess was also arrested in Utah for suspicion of rape and exploiting prosititution a few years ago. Can't find if he was convicted. He already had a sexual battery prior at the time, according to this:
@Nerdliness - Thanks for the tip on Burgess. It looks like he wasn't convicted for any sex crimes in the caseโhe's not on the national list of sex offenders. The owner of the Reiki massage parlor he managed in Salt Lake City, though, was convicted of prostitution and rape of a minor.
