I'm not certain exactly how they think the flag was being "disrespected". Unless it was the fact that it was being hung upside down.
Also, to claim that there was a "moat" is disingenuous at best. There is a pool surrounding the elk, but the manner in which they worded their accomplishment made it sound as though it was a purposefully built border of water for the express purpose of fortifying what is inside.
The claim that they "outsmarted" anyone is also misleading, at best. People were climbing the elk all night, and the only opposition given to anyone attempting this was from myself and others working as medical volunteers who did not want to see anyone fall and hurt themselves particularly since many of the crowd doing the climbing were inebriated individuals who, for lack of a better term, were merely spectators at the event who had little to no actual interest in defending the protestors or the park.
Anyways, glad you got your petty little jollies by stealing someone elses property who had hung it as an expression of their first amendment rights. Also, a good number of the Occupy protestors locally and abroad support Ron Paul. But I wouldn't expect you to know that, as you admitted to not knowing much of anything about Occupy and from the slight slur in your voice I am presuming were at least a little inebriated.
There will not be another civil war in the US. At least not anytime soon. Occupy was the chance for an uprising and it did not happen. Besides, rebels would be crushed by the cops and US military and surly would lose in a showdown with well armed rural America.
I still think Tea Baggers and 'occupy' have ALOT in common, just separated mostly by age.
That having been said, at least Tea Baggers didn't cost our city nearly a million dollars.
(and without getting anything done too)
"I still think Tea Baggers and 'occupy' have ALOT in common, just separated mostly by age."
I didn't see you bracket this with and , so are you serious? Have you not read the manifestos of both groups?
Just for the record here: the use of the term "Teabagger" is a sexual derisive term which is offensive and derogatory. Even John Stewart has condemned it's use. I think you should offer them a little more respect than that and maybe apologize? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-gsJrgwxQDo
Yeah, I saw them while making my rounds Saturday, but before their act of derring-do. She was tipsily shouting at some protesters to get jobs, and they were explaining that they had jobs, and he looked at me and said, "there she goes again." Or something like that. More spice in the awesome stew that was Saturday night.
Oh wow, teabaggers steal a flag. Big fucking deal. What will be their next big caper? Hoarding packs of creamer from the LIBERAL Starbucks? THAT'LL SHOW 'EM!
Good morning. Last night about 3 AM I noticed that our video regarding Deb liberating the flag had been stolen. This video contains footage from ourself, DearCitizenTV, and Alex Pfeifer. A YouTube user, "OccupyMediaDotORG" apparently upset with our removal of some uncivil comments, downloaded the original video and re-uploaded it in-full, for his own use and profit, leaving comments unmoderated. I immediately filed a notice of copyright infringement with YouTube, LLC. I'm happy to report that, as of this morning, their illegal copy has been taken down. Our copy, the original copy stands tall. I am so proud of Deb and what she did. You are so beautiful and brave. Again today, Freedom Wins, Tyranny Loses, and the rue of law will prevail. Thank You Deb! Onward Oregon TEA Party!http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4q8J_crXqso
@daylight: You're proud of petty theft? Wow, you must write love letters to Raj Rajaratnam and Andy Fastow!
@Andy: The Tea Party doesn't stand for shit. It was a well-financed marketing campaign to trick angry people into voting and mobilizing against their own interests. People seeking "fiscal responsibility" and "civil liberties" then voted in a bloc of elected officials dedicated to increasing spending while not paying for it, expanding warrantless wiretap programs targeting American civilians and bitching about fluorescent lightbulbs and pizza being a vegetable.
If you think the Tea Party is anything other than that, I would love to see any kind of evidence you can offer. But it's not. It's just that.
2. Anyone readin Yahoo for news is....I don't even know where to start with that one.
3. Keep not responding to fact-based criticisms in favor of knee-jerk, shallow retail politics. I sincerely hope you don't get fucked over by the Tea Party congress. I can point to existing legislation they have gutted or shot down that directly affects my life and livelihood in detrimental ways.
Upside down American flag = America in distress. NOT A SIGN OF DISREPECT. But, what do we expect from a bunch of brainwashed consumers. The Tea Bags are about as American as it gets when it comes to idiocracy. Be proud America, we have the biggest idiots on the planet!
"3. Keep not responding to fact-based criticisms..."
Oregometry, as soon as the OccuFail movement write any factual criticisms, please notify me so I can respond.
An upside-down flag has nothing to do with disrespect, it’s common knowledge that it symbolizes a country in distress. It amazes me how many ignorant people are getting upset over this.

Occupy is in transition towards being a long term force, probably not camping, or doing pranks. The Tea Party has likely peaked judging by polls.
best quote ever.
