Now I have Dionne Warwick's "Walk On By" stuck in my head.

And now so do you.

Is it the season for Denis to start attacking the local soup kitchens again?

Now I have Alien Sex Fiend's "I Walk The Line" stuck in my head.

And now so do you.

I've been avoiding them for years because they're a church and an army, two of my least favorite things. Fuck them in their Federal income tax exempt face.

They need to get the old Salvation Army Bands performing lugubrious small-ensemble music on the street again. I doubt it would be actually good, strictly speaking, but it would definitely be something different.
6
They need to all start dressing like the Blues Brothers, playing harmonica instead of ringing a bell, and proudly proclaiming they are on a mission from god.

Oh and also stop hating gays.

I'm gonna work as a bell-ringer for a week or two and wait for some nut to toss a Krugerrand in the kettle. Then I'm flying to Brazil.

Salvation army does not hire gays, and puts big money into conservative politics.

Further, SA gets hundreds of millions in gov't funds every year (see article above), and then gets credit as an evangelical Christian organization. Not okay.

Why do we get all these hatred blog about the Salvation Army when it's suppose to be "the most wonderful time of the year?". The Red Kettle has been the icon of America since 1891 and still going strong with meeting those in NEEDS. Nothing has changed when it comes to meeting human needs and who wouldn't stand or walk by the red kettle for their faithful service up to this day. If the red kettle has been successful in providing help to those less fortunate every year, then who are we to say the Salvation Army red kettle is to be ingored? All we're doing is ignoring those in need. After all, it's been 146 years of service to our country through this organization from the frontlines of our malitary to our small town communities. God bless the Salvation Army and God bless the USA!

Please wait...
