FYI, the library has not been covering the shortage with "the county's dwindling reserve". The library carefully set aside its own money from the first year of the levy, knowing that by the fifth year, funding is generally tight. Renewing the levy at the current, five year old rate will not keep the hours and services library patrons are accustomed to having. It's also very dubious that the county will be able to make up any of the shortage as the Chair promises, as the library never gets all the money the county promises...
Typical of an out-of-towner politician to decide for us instead of letting us decide for ourselves. No matter what you may think about Occupy movements, it's pretty clear that people want to be able to have a say. Cogen isn't paying attention.
