Facts about Joe Rogan that make me question whether he is abysmal:
1) Joe Rogan is high on "edibles" when he films Fear Factor
2) Joe Rogan is way way high when he records his podcast
3) Joe Rogan gets most of his guests high when he does his podcast
4) Joe Rogan believes some crazy stoner shit (christianity and most religious are based, I shit you not, on hallucinegenic mushrooms or teas (think about it, mushrooms grow on cow shit, so cows are then sacred to Hindus) and as someone who no longer partakes is mind altering substances, its funny to listen too, if not a bit a bit repetitive.
4) Joe Rogan could kick your ass and my ass.
5) Dave Chappelle's funniest skit from The Chappelle Show was with Joe Rogan.
I in agreeement with Babygorilla, Joe Rogan is a damn funny & cool guy. You just gotta look past UFC & Fear Factor. His stand up is classic, http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=playe…
Counterpoint: Joe Rogan is a sucky lowest-common-denominator comic who was overbearingly anti-pot before becoming a pothead, and was easily the weakest link on Newsradio.
He was good on NewsRadio because he had an uncanny knack for convincingly playing a meathead the way no talented comedic actor could ever pull off. Hmm.
His standup stuff strikes me as more Bill Hicks-wannabe without the intelligence or originality to pull of the whole "let me change the way you think about the world" bit, plus a bunch of shouty frat-boyishness -- still better than 90% of standup comedy, though.
