Allegedly "turn it into a community center". How does squatting in a vacant YMCA do anything do impact the 1% I ask? I am sure some Occupy member has a clever answer, but if you want to have a community center why not petition the city or accept donations? Or do you just want to squat on private property or city land so you can have unsanitary homeless camps?.And posture and get media attention? Say, I need housing, and banks have not been kind to me. Do you mind if I "Occupy" your house? I do not understand how squatting and confrontations with the police benefit us ( the 99%)

Be part of 'occupy' - because Protesting is Fun and gives your life a sense of purpose.

Write patronizing comments on Blogtown - because dismissing other people with immediate knee-jerk derision gives your life a sense of purpose.
5
Immediate? Hardly. I was empathetic at the beginning - or at least not dismissive.
Not 'immediate' at all. They EARNED derision. In countless ways too.
6
Ha ha, look at all the lonely people arguing politics over a missing mantrike. Assholes.
7
I am not dismissing anyone. I would honestly like a rational answer. In all seriousness.

@6....my post addressed the situation in Oakland...or are you not bright enough to understand that?

Occupy addresses the very serious issue of government becoming a police state. Every day we are losing more and more of our Rights. Rights that are protected in our longstanding constitution, without our consent. Mass media has succeeded (to a point) in painting the Protest in a very negative light. Before you know it, we will all be regretting not paying attention to the absolutely ridiculous things happening in Washington right now. Wake up people. Look where we are going.

#9 - yet another perfect example of what is wrong with 'occupy': now it is also about suddenly waking up to a police state.
I think you need to wake up ForReals.
