Of course, had the officer felt forced to shoot him all we would be hearing now is protests about how the Portland police have no restraint, shoot first, ask questions later, yada yada: more fodder for the Red & Black Cafe.

the problem with our police department is that there is no penalty in a case like this when the cop executes the guy, well sometimes they get several months of paid vacation, but when they really do the right thing like in this case they get nothing. We ought to be giving this guy a fat bonus.
