I don't know, the venue alone makes me curious enough to check it out. I've been to The Arista before, but for a banquet - it was a cool place and the food was awesome. So, if the food is done by the same people, I think it'd be a refreshing change from the garbage Helium serves, and they're already one-upping the other clubs on atmosphere & location. I like comedy, but I like the rest of the experience to be enjoyable too which is where I see some room in the Portland comedy scene for this club to step into.
You talk about demographic - my wife and I are in our early 30s and we checked this place out last week, I think it was their first or second show. The comedy was great, but it was also nice that they didn't make you buy food or drinks - that's been a turn-off for me at other clubs. They seem to have the right idea about unobtrusive cocktail waiters, too. Maybe they're trying to move beyond the dive bar atmosphere?
