Santorum and Romney both have it backwards: The economically successful get married; they don't marry to become economically successful. If Santorum and Romney want more women to get married, they should be encouraging MORE WOMEN TO GO TO COLLEGE!

Women who graduate from college are the only group of women with INCREASING rates of marriage. That's because, they're in a better position economically to get hitched.

The most-educated quartile of women are also the LEAST LIKELY to get divorced.

The divorce rate within five years of marriage,
among women with no high school degree: 34%
among women with a high school graduates: 23%
among women with some college education: 25%
among women with a college degree: 13%

Ladies, if you want to get married (and stay married), go to college. (And don't worry about all the debt you'll accrue, you're new husband can help pay it off.)
