SJR: "Traditional Marriage Supporters" wouldn't be labelled bigots if they were focused on, you know, supporting traditional marriages. But they can't leave it there, they have to make sure that "supporting traditional marriage" means denying basic rights to someone else, because somehow someone else's marriage is a threat to their own marriage. And... you do all this cloaked in a religious context - trying to impose a religious set of values on society's and government's laws. So, I'll go one step further: Most "Traditional Marriage Supporters" are not only bigots, but bigots who have no problem shitting on one of the Constitution's main principles - separation of church and state.

pdxMB: Whether you understand this or not, America and religion are intertwined. Many of the simplest laws are laws based on simple morality. Thou shalt not....fill in the blanks. I'm not saying religion, (most religions having something negative to say about gay activities) is the ultimate authority on this matter. What I am trying to get across to people is this issue is much more than religion persecuting gay people. In my own humble opinion, I suggest that gay marriage supporters are on the offensive here. I can see very clearly that this is an attack on religious institutions and it isn't merely about this issue. There are other fringe groups out there hell bent on banning religion (Atheists to name one), which is never going to happen in our country. Want proof? Hit the link in the article that says "compilation post" and scroll down. You'll see how much this is an attack on religion instead of merely being about "equality". One poster even goes as far as saying "Can we please ban religion already?" It's proof that it is an attack on traditional marriage as it has been defined for centuries and I see no reason to change that for groups who are bent on attacking religion over it. Liars should never be rewarded.

Seriously, how has cookie turned into an attack on "traditional marriage" and some sort blanket "religion?" What's happening here is several people trying to make points to someone who clearly thinks he or she is a great debater because it's super easy to bend logic in a forum where you're not held to any accountability. The best way to diminish the Most Important Person on the Internet is to ignore him or her. Like me... I'll never come back here to see if someone defines "idiot" with my name because it doesn't matter. It's the internet and it means nothing. Nobody cares.
