wow -- talk about insulting.

yeah, thanks for that song/video at the end there, denis -- i don't get it.

"NO REASON. I JUST LIKE THIS SONG AND WANTED TO LISTEN TO IT."

you like that song? do you? and the video, too? i feel like i lost a good 600,000 brain cells during the 40-something seconds i was able to listen to/watch that.

i ended up muting it and fast-forwarding to the end, thinking that surely there must be something there that makes it worth it.....nope.

you dig up several good, news articles of all sorts, and then you taint it all with this?

what is WRONG with you?

"...made a difficult decision to open fire on a crowded street in Midtown Manhattan."

WTF?! It's not a "difficult decision" not to fire into a crowd. It seems like they made a reckless decision that's pretty fucking inexcusable. What the fuck were they thinking, "Johnny, just keep firing until you hit the shooter, OK! Here's an extra mag!" Were these guards minimum wage doofuses handed a pistol for the first time that afternoon? Fuck'n hell, this is the worst decision that they could have made. "Difficult"? OK - tell me what could be worse outcome than 9 people unnecessarily being wounded? 10 people? How about the guards letting the murderer taking one more life, so that the guard could get off an accurate shot?

Ha, and here's the Mercury coming to their aid - you damn well know that if a citizen with a Concealed Handgun License decided to fire into a crowd in order to stop a murder, the CHL holder would be in jail. He would deserve to be in jail, because it's just a fucking stupid decision to fire into a crowd. Shit, you miss a shot, hit a bystander, and you keep firing? Hahaha! Here should be your lesson learned, Mercury: Security guards are not infallible, and they certainly don't deserve less scrutiny than regular citizens.

alright, denis -- after watching the video that fidelity_axiom posted above, i've decided that there are worse things to see than crappy tlc music videos.

@ axiom: sad, horrible stuff.....all the same, i think the more footage like that that people see, the better -- it helps us to remember just how quickly things can change, and how fragile and precious our lives are.
