Publicizing suicides tends to lead to more of them; hell, it might be why it was done so publically in this case. The media used to consider reporting suicide taboo for this very reason.
But if suicides aren't publicized, then we won't know about them. True, ignorance is bliss, but is that really the best way to be? Any and all information, no matter how harsh or seemingly-gratuitous, should be welcomed, ingested, and learned from.
Publicizing suicides leads to more suicides in exactly the same way that publicizing anything tends to lead to more of anything. That is literally the dumbest thing I have ever heard, and I am dumber for having read it. Now wait while I check the weather report. Oh, it says rain? I guess that means more rain then.... crap.
Perhap's Jadin's demeanor and sexual orientation really made many around him feel disjointed about themselves, which led to some finding the need to be aggressive towards him. Who they were really abusing is and reacting to is their own inertia, isn't that really the way of bullies anyway?
Then again maybe the bullying has something to do with society’s taboo towards same sex orientation as much as it claims that it is open to accepting such proclivities.
