We should all be proud of these students. As for the university administration...go ahead and cling to the worst of your old policies, do you really think that's going to end well? Times are changing...
It is a CATHOLIC school............This is like going to someones house and telling them they are wrong for voting in any certain way they feel like. I myself support gay rights with ethics and knowledge, not fascist tyranny over my catholic school................catholics do not agree with homosexual ways. These kids are trying to change a faith not a school practice. CATHOLIC school!
Look, i'm, of course, totally on board when it comes to advocating for equal rights for LGBTQ folks, but c'mon -- do these same protesters protest when they're spoon-fed 'intelligent design' drivel in their 'science' classes? Surely the inherent inferiority of these types of folks is discussed alongside topics like Noah's ark, procreation via rib, life after death, and the noble Crusades.
What, your god is infallible and all-loving except in this one instance?
If you guys want equal rights/treatment for people of all stripes at a Catholic college, perhaps you should get on the phone with the devil, or with a real school. (Asking Santa Claus for as much might help, too -- it's never too early to get those letters in the mail to the North Pole...)
Should U of P change their stance? Yes, absolutely. And I love that there were that many students protesting (I'm rather surprised, actually). But trying to change the administrative minds at a school like that one is like trying to talk sense into a glass doorknob -- its not going to do any good.
Antonio is right...
