@Amos: I got it. I thought it was funny. People on here got NO sense of humor. Or culture. Or functioning genitals. That's why they complain all the time,
Wow, can't believe the negative comments for a show like this. This isn't some mid-level indie band. What did you think an artist of Prince's stature would cost for a club show? I paid $85 to see him at the Tacoma Dome last year. I would have happily paid twice that to see him in small venue like this. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity! Errr...except when he played the Roseland as an aftershow in the early 2000s. But still! I'm stoked...
I think it's worth $175 to see Prince in a venue that's substantially smaller than First Avenue. Meanwhile, tickets to see the Dalai Lama at the Rose Garden top out at $1,272.00.
I saw him at the Schnitzer about 10 years ago followed by the after party show at the Roseland. I've seen him live several times but he is absolutely electrifying in such small venues and worth every penny of the $393.00 I just spent on the pair of tickets I purchased for the April 21st show. Those who are complaining about the cost need to consider even though the show is at the Roseland, this is not some no-name or washed up band from the 80's. This is PRINCE. It's not just a concert, it's an experience.
And the Roseland sucks.
I saw Prince some years back and it was great.
I remember reading Eno talking about Prince, saying he could go over more styles of music well on one record than most people can do in a lifetime.
Sums it up pretty well.
