Filing a lawsuit alleging sexual discrimination, etc, has - unfortunetly - become the equivalent of a cop or firefighter
filing for medical leave just after they fucked up somehow and are about to be fired.

You're missing the point of this article. It sounds like she was kind of a jerk, and her boss was kind of a creep. Now she's pissed because they butted heads. Although, it is strange that she waited five days after being fired to file a complaint...

No, I got that.
I still think all parents should have arrangements made for child care so it doesn't interfere with work.
Men and women.
And after only 4 weeks of work, it seems a pretty ballsy or confrontational move to take time off for any reason.
