Is this a joke? Six blocks of buffered bike lane? What about the rest of 3rd avenue, you know, maybe down to Harrison?

I appreciate the intent, but it falls short of a real solution. There's a serious lack of protected North-South routes downtown, especially on 3rd Ave. Once again, the bike line will just evaporate into carnivorous car traffic, and maybe in a few years we'll get another six blocks.

Yeah, that's nice. How about some sidewalks in East Portland?

PBOT is floundering, IMHO. They are trying to appease one group here, one group there.

The big picture is this: the Port has closed. Out in East Portland the streets are crumbling. We have an export-led local economy, but we have major issues with freight.

Bikes are just a little sideshow to distract Leah Treat and Steve Novick from the big, basic issues they cannot resolve.

Hopefully Ted Wheeler will be Mayor and he will take PBOT away from Novick and put him in charge of the Portland Loo.

Please wait...
