Gay people are attention whores. That's why they have their pride parade. They want the attention, whether it is negative or not. I agree completely with I,A. Keep your sexuality to yourself. No one needs to know your business and I don't want to know your business. Oh, and quit comparing your agenda to the plight of the black community over the last few centuries. Black people were fucking enslaved, not you. Big difference.

See, hon, the thing is, you're the sort of person who thinks I'm "shoving it down your throat" when I put a picture of my partner on my desk, or even mention my relationship. Just guessing here, based on the sense of entitlement you've so clearly expressed here.

A tip: starting off by saying you're not a bigot will make your average reader immediately assume you are one, based on prior experience.

I don't think you are though. But on the other hand, despite how much you claim to "get it," you clearly don't. To be brief: people can be pretty fucking annoying when they're in their coming-out phase, and it's good to remember that since queer folk are people too, there's going to be a fair amount of idiots among them. But does that equate to someone else shoving their sexuality down your throat? Only if you actually do have a problem with what other people do sexually, despite what you said earlier.

I'm not gay so I can't really comment on what it's like.. but in my opinion I would say it's a "breaking free from oppression" kind of thing. There are lots of evil people who love to say that being gay is wrong, unnatural, etc. I'm sure that comments and mindsets like these are very hard to deal with, and if you get to the point to where you feel like you don't have to hide being gay, I'm sure it's a very liberating feeling., and something some people love to flaunt for just a little bit.

In a weird Universe, if being straight weren't socially accepted and equal rights weren't afforded to those that claimed the orientation, you would either hide in the closet out of fear or proclaim your sexuality to many others, while making an identity that made you feel accepted. Otherwise, nothing would progress. Get it? The head should be used for thinking not smashing beer cans...

No one says "I'm going to have a burger, because I'm GAY!" either. For you to go on about that shows that you're a) fucking stupid, b) a bigot, or c) both. And why do you care if someone expresses their identity anyway? Last I checked, it's only bigots who are "bugged" enough about that to write anonymous posts about it. Also, FYI, science shows that most homophobes are self-hating closet cases in denial. So good luck with that.

Mmmmm. Burgers....

I have never felt that way, and I know a number of gay and lesbian people. Also none of them have ever made a statement remotely resembling what you purport such people to make. Now I am going to look at pictures of Gina Carano BECAUSE I AM STRAIGHT. < see what I did there?
9
@7: STOP SHOVING BURGERS DOWN EVERYONE'S THROATS!
10
Mmmmmmmmmm. Throats!

It's not only obvious that you're straight, but that you're uptight AND a bigot. Gay people are finally being accepted in society at large, without persecution. Of COURSE they're excited and want to talk about it. They're not bothering you specifically. Let them be.
12
So many bigots

I totally go around telling everyone I'm straight. From bumper stickers on my car, to teaching the "you need to accept non-straight people" diversity training at work. I also attend the straight parade every year... you know the one, where most of the straight people are nude and being overtly and overly sexual in public? Yeah, that one.
Proud to be straight, yo.
14
* "you need to accept straight people" diversity training. That class rocks.
15
If I was gay I'd totally shove it down your throat!
16
Different sexual preferences aren't trying to defeat each other...

17
If you were in Utah or Oklahoma, then maybe the bumper stickers and such may be needed. Or even if it was Portland circa 1990.
But here now, today?
Who gives a shit really.
And, isn't that really the goal?
18
Maybe gay people like stuff shoved down their throats so they think you do too! How about a little empathy!?!
19
Why do you people have to run around showing the world that you're retarded?
20
Straight people mentioned their "sexuality" every time they mention their relationship, family status, girlfriend/boyfriend etc., which is all the time. The difference is it's not considered sexuality. No one pictures a sex act all of a sudden when you said I have a wife and three kids. Only when it's gay people is it sexuality that we need to keep secret. You think anybody wants to hear about your vanilla, default factory settings life? I could watch "According to Jim" for that.
And what gay person lives their life solely on their sexuality, huh? You know who tends to think this way btw? Closeted gay people.

#13 & 14: It endears your message to us all, your cleverness. By all means continue, and let the first person who cries "false equivalency!" be damned.

#21: Yawn, snooze, snore.

Next on FOX news: THE WAR ON STRAIGHT PEOPLE!!!
24
To be fair, I've been meaning to try Hamburger Mary's because of the gayness. But I often eat non-gay meals.
25
Every time you talk about your wife/husband, you show me your wedding ring, you invite me to your wedding, you tell a funny story about your kids, you have a baby shower, you get pregnant, you ask me to move so your baby can sit by the window, you hold hands in public, you kiss your girlfriend/boyfriend in front of me...STOP SHOVING YOUR HETEROSEXUALITY DOWN MY THROAT.

I,A is a fucking troll.
Where is the bullshit meter?
26
Also, suck my clit.
27
@seanpdx...BINGO! And hey anon, if that is the case, I won't judge you and I bet most people that read this publication won't either. Think about that for a minute
