I have seen far to many people do this.....seriously are they that stupid and unaware of traffic laws, or just don't care?
2
#1. They're too busy texting to notice. Or stoned. Or both. This is Portland.
3
Portland drivers really are oddly and annoyingly passive compared to other parts of the country. Southern California drivers downright terrified me.
4
REALLY? B/c every single time an emergency vehicle comes through with sirens blazing, i always see people pull over right away. I really don't think this is an "issue".

Find something else to whine about, Portland.
5
i don't get why he typed "yeah, that's what i thought"?
6
This is something that I have noticed with some regularity. Every second does count. Please pull over!
7
If someone's life needs saving, then YES! PULL THE FUCK OVER, PLEASE! Firefighters and EMT, yeah.

But for police, not so much. Make 'em wait alittle.
8
^that is, unless you called them. Because someone was giving you a beat down on belmont. A beat down we all now know you deserved.........
9
@2, lol. Somehow I actually can believe that.
10
First off, only in your most fevered imagination have i ever gotten a "beat-down".

Secondly, You and several others here seem awfully obsessed over something that took place 4 years ago that you only know about b/c you read about it in the Portland Mercury. Kinda makes you a sad loser, doesn't it, *unregistered comment?
11
Belmont beat down. Ha ha.
12
I guess in your childmind, those words configured together sound mildly amusing.
13
Wish I was there xo

This is because people are bad drivers. They see the emergency lights and "try" to pull over, but other, more observant drivers have already pulled over, thus adjacent place to pull over are blocked. These bad drivers don't know what to do! They think they aren't allowed to keep driving to a place where there is room to pull over. So, paralyzed, they just sit there in front of the emergency vehicle. Stupid bad Portland drivers.

Please wait...
