The 1700's? Really? YOU are a Road Show Simpleton. Wood casters on metal frames are circa 1830, minimum. More likely 1930. You probably wouldn't recognize 18th Century if it bit you with its wodden teeth.
So, patina THAT!

I used to be part owner of an antique shop back east. The last poster is correct, it is far more likely to have been made in the mid to late 1800s at the earliest (the point about castors is spot on). That still makes it quite old and an interesting piece.
