In other news: I live near a stop light on a busy-ish street. During the summer, I like to have my windows open, much like the drivers that pass by. Now, I understand that part of the agreement here is that I "get" to hear some of their music as they pass by, and I don't mind it. What interests me is that it's not the kind of music that I thought I would hear. I expected the typical hip/hop, pop, and various kinds of alt-rock. What I didn't expect is that about 50% of the music would be country. And I don't mean the older, 1950s era country, or some kind of bluegrass revival. I'm talking about musicians who sing about 'Merica, and putting boots in asses, and the like (sorry, I don't know the names). It's just surprising, given the Portland stereotype. I don't really have much more to say about it.

Good luck sorting out that whole, "which half of Portland is more fucked up" debate.

Yeah, the women here are really no treat to be honest. Lots of drunks, cheaters, dishonesty, daddy issues, etc. After dating about 7-8 girls from the LoveLab thing here I quickly realized that for all the great things about Portland, it doesn't have those quality, caring girls (who can actually cook good meals instead of living off food carts and burritos) from the midwest. Yeah, many of them move here, but within months they take on that vapid Karen O demeanor that's such a bore. Still, I'm not jaded - nor should all the women who can't find a decent guy. Finding the right person shouldn't be easy though, otherwise you won't really appreciate them imo.
