So then there is still hope for Pat Paulson?
2
Wrong. The two-thirds requirement refers to the US House of Representatives' vote on a president, in the event there's no Electoral College majority: "The person having the greatest Number of votes for President, shall be the President, if such number be a majority of the whole number of Electors appointed; and if no person have such majority, then from the persons having the highest numbers not exceeding three on the list of those voted for as President, the House of Representatives shall choose immediately, by ballot, the President. But in choosing the President, the votes shall be taken by states, the representation from each state having one vote; a quorum for this purpose shall consist of a member or members from two-thirds of the states, and a majority of all the states shall be necessary to a choice."

Enough Obama electors would have to boycott to deny him a majority in the Electoral College. Then, it'd devolve to the House. Not gonna happen.
3
It's too late for Mitt, the House will declare the first dual presidency, that of David H. and Charles G. Koch.
4
Funny how all it takes is electing our first black president to encourage the least intelligent among us to come out of the woodwork as amateur constitutional scholars.

According to Judson Phillips, if 17 of those states that voted for Romney refuse to participate, the Electoral College will have no quorum, then the election goes to the House of Representatives.

How Obama can be stopped in Electoral College

We have one last, final chance to save America. We have one last, final chance to stop Barack Obama. One final chance.

What is this final chance? Will the Republicans step up to the plate and do what is necessary?

Barack Obama has not yet been re-elected president.

Yes, the election is over – but remember, a presidential election in America is not by popular vote. We vote for the candidate, but what we are really doing is voting for the electors who will meet on the Monday after the second Wednesday in December.

That is when the actual re-election of the president occurs.

Is there a way to stop this?

Yes, there is.

And the best part – this is totally constitutional.

The 12th Amendment of the Constitution as well as Article II of the Constitution govern the Electoral College.

According to the 12th Amendment, for the Electoral College to be able to select the president, it must have a quorum of two-thirds of the states voting. If enough states refuse to participate, the Electoral College will not have a quorum. If the Electoral College does not have a quorum or otherwise cannot vote or decide, then the responsibility for selecting the president and vice president devolves to the Congress.

The House of Representatives selects the president and the Senate selects the vice president.

Since the Republicans hold a majority in the House, presumably they would vote for Mitt Romney, and the Democrats in the Senate would vote for Joe Biden for vice president.

Can this work?

Sure it can.

Democrats have actually set this precedent of refusing to participate to deny Republicans a quorum. They did this in Wisconsin and in Texas. Why can’t we do this with the Electoral College?

Mitt Romney was a terrible candidate, and he will not be a great president. But he will be infinitely better than Barack Obama.

So how do we do this?

Mitt Romney carried 24 states. We need to have conservative activists from all over the nation contact the electors, the Republican Party and the secretary of state in all of these states and tell them not to participate in the Electoral College when it meets on Dec. 17.

If we can get 17 of those states (just over one-third) to refuse to participate, the Electoral College will have no quorum. Then, as the Constitution directs, the election goes to the House of Representatives.

That is how we can still pull this election out and make Mitt Romney president in January.

We need this concept shared with every tea party, liberty and patriotic group throughout the country. We have time to act, but we must pressure Republicans to do the right thing.

It does not matter who gets credit for this. The credit is not important. Using our last chance to defeat Barack Obama is important.

Far too often the Republican Party seems more interested in losing gracefully than winning and governing.

This is our last chance. We the people must contact the electors, party officials and secretaries of state from every red state and insist that they refuse to participate in the Electoral College.

We can still save America and use the Constitution to do it. But this truly is our last chance.

Yeah, I'm sure this will happen. Not only would ignoring the will of the voters result in NO backlash at all, but it'd really make the country fall in love with Romney too.

Every election you hear the wing nuts spouting their conspiracy bs. Yawn.
7
Bill Clinton was the first black president. O'bamass' mama be white. Dick Cheney's wife says that her husband and the defacto president are cousins.

There is always a backlash. What difference does that make? Still, they wouldn't have to elect Romney, but I think the Electoral College would be more likely to elect somebody new, before the House ever would.

@ multnomahn:

dude, it's called 'I, Anonymous', not 'I, Multnomahn'.

also: look out! the sky is falling! the mayan calendar is ending! our nigerian, muslim president is going to take away your guns and god!!!!
10
@ inhumane potty training:

O'bama is not Muslim. His step dad registered him as that in Indonisia, but the last religious congregation that he associated with is black separatist, Jeremiah Wright's, Trinity United Church of Christ, in Chicago.

Pastor Wright arranges straight marriages for homosexual male members so that they can pass and succeed materially in society. I think Barry just pretended to be gay, so he could actually meet a girl.

Everybody thought Bush was going to take their guns away, too. This is a boom for arms manufacturers and retailers alike.

The end of Mayan calendar coincides with the Earth's 26,000 year cycle of Precession, as the planet reaches the apex of it's elliptical path, through all the signs of the Zodiac, reaching it's farthest most point away from the Sun. If all the factors of the Milankovitch theory were in place, we would be entering an ice age now.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milankovitch_cycles

http://iceagenow.com/

Also, there is the Earth Crust displacement theory, that as Earth makes that sharp corner around the apex of the ellipse, that the effect is like English on a cue ball, that causes the surface of the planet to spin faster that the center, like a loose peel slipping freely of the fruit of an orange.

http://www.world-mysteries.com/sar_1.htm

Charles Hapggod, in 1953, wrote a book called "Earth's shifting crust: a key to some basic problems of earth science", where he made up a theory to explain how Antarctic had been ice-free until year 4000 BC (see Bibliography ).
The theory summing up is as follows:
The reason Antarctic was ice-free, and therefore much warmer, it is to be found in the fact that, at one time, its location wasn't the south pole. It was located approximately 2000 miles further north. Hapgood says this "would have put it outside the Antarctic Circle in a temperate or cold temperate climate".

Read more information about Pole Shifting.

The reason why the continent moved down to its present location has to be found in a mechanism called "earth-crust-displacement". This mechanism, not to be confused with the plate-tectonics or the continental drift, is one whereby the lithosphere, the whole outer crust of the earth "may be displaced at times, moving over the soft inner body, much as the skin of an orange, if it were loose, might shift over the inner part of the orange all in one piece". (Charles Hapgood, "Maps of the ancient sea-kings", cited, visit the Bibliography for more info).

This theory was sent to Albert Einstein, which answered to Hapgood in very enthusiastic terms. Though geologists did not seem to accept Hapgood's theory, Einstein seemed to be as much open as Hapgood saying:
"In a polar region there is a continual deposition of ice, which is not symmetrically distributed about the pole. The earth's rotation acts on these unsymmetrically deposited masses, and produces a centrifugal momentum that is transmitted to the rigid crust of the earth. The constantly increasing centrifugal momentum produced in this way will, when it has reached a certain point, produce a movement of the earth's crust over the rest of the earth's body...." (Einstein's foreword to "Earth's shifting crust" p.1)

Is Multnomahn SJR? I hate to think they are more than one.

Obama is the best US president Kenya ever produced.
12
The defacto prez is more like Bill Clinton than either the neocons or the progressives would care to admit. Even Dub'ya was a Socialist. Bob Geldof praised Bush for doing more to help victims of AIDS in Africa than any other leader in the World.
13
@Multnomahn. Careful not to get banned for aggressive trolling. lol.

@Chris. I think the (not clever, but he thinks it is) name calling e.g. "@ inhumane potty training" is a dead giveaway. That and the tl;dr posts.
14
Fucking A. This column can suck it!
15
Damn right Geo. it's funny, I read "I, Anonymous" because I like to read whack-jobs and trolls, but this one is too much for even me.
16
Now the Mercury publishes an IA from a commenter (Multnomahn, SJR, Bad Steed) they've banned, and will ban, for trolling.

Great work @William and friends! You all are on top of your game.

At least it is nice to hear the rightwing acknowledge that they can't win a fair straight up election of the American people. So they have to invent a voter fraud problem and resort to the filibuster and electoral college hallucinations.

Because they know that from here on out, if we have an honest election, they lose.
19
First of all, one columnist does not a wing make, secondly, who says that there was no voter fraud? Neither party is clean in that regard. Thirdly, the Electrical Collage is the original electorate, and still prevails over the veneer of a popular vote, which is only intended to give the public a false sense of power. The Republicans don't really want Romney. They deliberately ran a weak candidate so that O'bama would win. They prefer to keep the defacto president, because since he's not a Natural Born Citizen, if he doesn't do as the Republicans want, then they will simply deport him.

Hillary Clinton’s 2008 presidential campaign began investigating rumors that Rev. Jeremiah Wright was running a “matchmaking service” for members of his Trinity United Church of Christ known as the Down Low Club, which included Barack Obama. Members of the church claim the president benefited from Wright’s efforts to help black men who engage in homosexual activity appear respectable in black society by finding them a wife.

"I traveled to Pakistan when I was in college," said Obama in the way of illustration. "I knew what Sunni and Shia was [sic -- Obama has always had problems with noun-verb agreement] before I joined the Senate Foreign Relations Committee."

This declaration took ABC reporter Jake Tapper by surprise. He thought it odd that he had not heard of this trip—no one had--especially "given all the talk of Pakistan during this campaign."

Had Tapper inquired further, he would have learned that Obama did not mention the Pakistan visit in either of his books, the 1995 “ Dreams From My Father” or the 2006 “ Audacity of Hope.”

The very real possibility remains that Obama traveled to Pakistan the same way to traveled to Occidental—on the Indonesian citizenship he claimed as a boy. The passport breach may have allowed Obama to open up about Pakistan.

The source who knows the grandmother declared: “I have keenly and attentively listened to the tape over and over again, and I can confirm from Sarah’s own confession that Barack Obama was born in Kenya in her presence.”

The source said that while Sarah Obama’ voice is hard to hear on the recording, “she admits of actually having been there at his birth.”

He said that while the people in the room with Sarah Obama “tried as much as they [could] to change the tone of the whole story … to me it seems someone is coaching her from the background and seemingly trying to guide her on what to say.”

The Kenyan government source agreed.

“I have listened to the tape,” he said. “The preacher asked whether Barack Obama was born in Mombasa, and the translator asked the same. When she said Mombasa, it was like a surprise, and those there thought she could not have meant to say Mombasa.”

The source said that at that point “they began insisting Hawaii was where Barack Obama was born.”

Sarah Obama can be heard uttering “Mombasa” in response to McRae’s question about where Obama was born.

The audio tape of the interview can be heard here:

Here are some facts to consider:

The Obama campaign accepted at least some foreign campaign cash – willingly and knowingly. The campaign website could have prohibited it. It did not. In other words, it deliberately left open the door for illegal foreign contributions in its “by any means necessary” quest for re-election. WND has proven that by actually contributing under the name Osama bin Laden from a Pakistani IP address, with a phony physical address and other neon-lit red flags in hopes of catching attention. Obama accepted illegal foreign contributions in 2008 without penalty, so why would anyone expect him not to repeat his crime in 2012? No one can know the extent of the fraud, because Obama has refused to release the identity of donors of $200 or less – yet he boasts that most of the money he collected was in small amounts.
James O’Keefe and Project Veritas spent months heroically proving the absolute willingness and eagerness of Democratic operatives to commit voter fraud – especially by having people cast multiple votes.
Military ballots were systematically denied active-duty servicemen and women around the world. This would be a scandal if it happened once. But it has become the norm when Democrats are in charge of the Defense Department. It would be a scandal if it were due to incompetence. But it appears to be a deliberate effort to suppress the military vote. It would be a scandal if it were not a close election. But it was.
Prior to the election, Democrats fought for open voting requiring no identification – particularly photo ID. Coincidentally, Obama won every state that didn’t fully require photo ID to vote. Democrats contended that voter ID laws suppress the vote. But they do not. They only suppress the illegal vote.
Across Philadelphia, GOP poll inspectors were forcibly (and illegally) removed from polling locations. Coincidentally (or not), Obama received “astronomical” numbers in those very same regions, including locations where he received “over 99 percent” of the vote. Ward 4, which also had a poll watcher dressed in Obama attire, went massively for Obama. Obama received 99.5 percent of the vote, defeating Romney 9,955 to 55.
Obama also won 99.8 percent of the vote in 44 Cleveland districts. In another Ohio county, Obama won with 108 percent of the voters registered.
Obama received 10 million fewer votes than he did in 2008. Romney received 3 million fewer votes than McCain. Obama won in the four critical swing states by a grand total of 500,000 votes.
Some 5 million independents changed their votes from Obama to Romney in 2012. So Romney started the day 2.5 million votes ahead of where McCain was in 2008, as Jack Wheeler points out. This means that 5.5 million Republican voters are not accounted for. Either they didn’t show up at the polls or their votes were not counted. Does anyone believe there was less enthusiasm by Republicans about this election than for the one in 2008?

I could go on and on, but you get the point. In such a close election, these anomalies are unacceptable. In an election in which all the voter fraud appears to be perpetrated by one side, it could more than make the difference in the race. Worse yet, will an unscrupulous party that would resort to such crimes to win ever permit another free and fair election in the future – especially if the crimes are not exposed and punished severely?

I believe going into the election that at least 5 percent of the Democratic vote would be fraudulent. That would mean Republicans would have to out-perform Democrats by 6 percent to win. I suspect now I was too conservative in my projections of about the expected level of criminality perpetrated by Obama’s Democrats.

Remember from where Obama arose. He was a community organizer and attorney for ACORN, which is nothing but an organized crime front with a focus on throwing elections.

25
So then it doesn't matter if there was voter fraud, since it is the Electoral College that holds the actual election.
26
Don't be surprised, if the Electrical Collage actually does elect Romney. The greater the number of fraudulent votes in the popular election, the wider the likely discrepancy between the popular vote and the final outcome.
27
Holy fucking walls of text I didn't read. Get a fucking life loser!
28
GO BACK TO CRAIGSLIST IDIOT TROLL. NO ONE BELIEVES THIS GARBAGE.
