The Jesus bus guy is annoying on so many levels. Thank you for your service.
2
Wouldn't the Jesus Bus dude do A LOT better in, say, Idaho or Wyoming? Can't somebody point him East?
3
Dirty Snitch.
4
SNITCHES GET STITCHES!!! JESUS COMIN FOR YOU!!!!!
5
Can we call the cops on the horrible "sculpture" that's parked in that lot?
6
Thank you.

And yes, will someone please get Portland's finest on those 'sculptures' that look like obstacles in a paintball course?
7
I'm glad they've painted on instructions for viewing said sculpture recently. Because apparently people were having trouble identifying it as "art". Or knowing what the fuck it's supposed to be about.

Artists' statements are for school critiques. Not to paint onto the surface of your POS installation after people hate on it for a few months.

"Paintball course obstacle"

TOTALLY!

Judas.

This is probably the only occasion wherein a botched police intervention resulting in an avoidable shooting death would be welcomed, I'm thinking.

Dammit IA, beat me to it!
13
If it wasn't the Jesus guy, how many of you would still be happy that the police forcibly removed him from a public space?
14
How many times a week do you think this guy gets all manipulative about faith when someone gets pissed at his loitering?

I think I'd be none too pleased if anyone parked a bus there: hippies, rainbow family, crust punks, etc. It's not a campground.
15
Chunty, I agree with you. I just think it's interesting to point out that this Jesus Bus guy has just as much right to be where he is as the "Occupy" folks had to be where they were. But I'm guessing that when the police broke up those camps, some of the people on this thread were a little less happy about it. And that, my friends, is called hypocrisy.
16
It's also what I call a Junior League Paradox. Yes, people's political viewpoints do indeed cause them to view individual events in differing manners. You're right.
17
Rich, there is no good reason to simply accept that. People need to be called on these things. Otherwise, you have given up on the concept of reasoned public debate.
18
???, you're making an awfully big assumption about IA. I see nothing in the post suggesting that they would support Occupy. Did you forget that a lot of Portlanders were actually not keen on having a semi-permanent homeless / runaway teen shooting gallery set up in downtown?

Plus, it's just a bad comparison. Compelling one cooperative guy to follow the law is a whole lot easier than compelling a few hundred who've set out to intentionally defy authority.

If anything, the Jesus Bus guy gets a free pass more often than he would if he wasn't invoking America's Favorite Religious Figure. If a bus full of Blac Bloc bozos pulled up and started preaching their ham-fisted notions of revolution, the cops would be all over them like pigs on shit. (see what I did there?)

Please wait...
