Expat.

There are literally billions of mass shooting sprees in the United States every minute. Your chances of dying in a car crash in Canada are literally zero, your chances of dying in a mass shooting in the USA is literally 100%. You were very smart to leave this evil country, the threat to you was so overwhelming.. it's amazing you survived as long as you did.

If you wear camouflage, the people shooting guns cannot see you.

See ya!

Being a long-term American expat myself (13 years in Europe now) I think I'd have some culture shock if I went back to the US. I've become accustomed to cheap rent, inexpensive (and good!) beer and the more laid-back life in the eastem quarters of the EU. I do miss Portland from time to time (lived there for 22 years) but I've gotten used to things here - learned the languages, customs, etc. And it's nice to be able to putter around the EU as well - being an ESL teacher has its advantages. So like the OP, I suppose I'm out for good as well.

Before you put your patriotism into something, ask for recent test results.

I have lived abroad too, and understand where you are coming from, but to me this country is worth fighting for, by trying to effect change in some ways.
And any other country, including the one you are living in, has its' own set of problems - which you will become more and more aware of.

We'll probably meet again .. after we invade your country.

Well, enjoy your round bacon, indigo girls, flannel tuxedo and mullet buddie! eh
