What so many Christian's tend to over look is the fact that Jesus has already fulfilled the Law. We've have the Ten Commandments all along. Nobody has ever been able to keep all of those. The Law was given so that Sin would increase, that Man might be able to notice and get a clue. Laws are only selectively enforced. When they are not enforced, citizens and politicians alike, subsequently demand more, new laws, as if that would make any difference. What does result, is laws become even more selectively enforced, which results in the loss of more, and more, freedoms. It's up to each individual to make the difference in each of their own lives. In the words of a famous liberal, "Do the Right Thing."

The rant is about a southerner who loves Jesus, and has a
fundamentalist Baptist pastor father. Baptist who believe in every literal interpretation of the Bible are like all religions that believe their faith is the one. It is weird that I can't shake this thing that God allows bad things to happen. If there is a God , why all the suffering?

But good for you that your not afraid to express your feelings. Even on this sight.

I just became happier that I pulled my head out of the weird ass fantasy land of christianity. Get out of that world, it's causing you grief.

"I didn't come to bring peace on earth, but [to get a 2-piece from Chicken Coop on D]ivision" -Jesus

FTFY, bible.

"As a fundamentalist Obama-backing Southern Baptist in Tennessee (I'm sure I've stereotyped myself now)"

No. You merely provided us with enough of a character reference for yourself, that we know whatever mindless drivel spews out of you isn't worth the time it takes to read, much less comprehend.

This is why baptists shouldn't drink. I remember my first PBR, too, Anon.

The King James Version is the most accurate translation of Holy Scripture, the inerrant Word of God, with only two errors. The problem is that we all see through a glass darkly, and don't quite get it. The result is made evident as numerous denominations.

There are about 1,200 Prophecies on approximately 800 topics in "The Bible," 80% of which have all come true, exactly as foretold. The remainder are all for the future, most of which are to take place within a 7 year period of time. No Biblical Prophecy has ever turned out wrong. If one ever does, The Bible itself commands that the entire compilation be destroyed and forgotten, and for the false prophets to be stoned to death.

The exact words of Genesis 1:2 "and the earth was (became) formless and void", are recorded in chapter 4 verse 26 of Jeremiah. The majority of Christian scholars believe Gen. 1:2 means that the earth was created in an imperfect state. Genesis 1:1 lays the reality of creation out clearly: In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The next sentence, "and the earth was formless and void", is in error in most English translations. It should read, "and the earth became formless and void." The Hebrew word translated "was formless" in English versions of the Bible is "toh-ho" a verb which means, "to lay waste".

To most people [ except maybe a mason or member of Illuminati ] "Lucifer" is believed to be the actual name of the cherub who became Satan. HOWEVER, the mistranslation " Lucifer " is only found in one passage of the Bible, Isaiah 14:12, and only in old translations [Vulgate, KJV]. Compare the King James translation of Isaiah 14 to the Interlinear:

(KJV) "How art thou fallen from heaven,
O Lucifer, son of the morning!
how art thou cut down to the ground,
which didst weaken the nations!"

(Interlinear) "O shining star, son of morning,
how you have fallen from the heavens...
For you said in your heart,
I will go up to the heavens;
I will raise my throne above the stars of God,
and I will sit in the mount of meeting
in the sides of the north...
I will be compared to the most high."

This often misinterpreted passage has lead some to conclude that Lucifer is a different entity than Satan. At the very least, the King James mistranslation compounds confusion because of the association of Venus / Lucifer / "Morning Star". The original Hebrew makes clear that the word " Lucifer " is not an accurate translation. "Light Bringer" clearly is not what was intended in this passage. Unfortunately, the Hendricksen Interlinear Hebrew Bible translates the phrase misleadingly as well, using "O shining star" instead of "Lucifer". The actual Hebrew word hay-lale does not mean "star" but "bright or clear sounding" [as in singing Hallelujah] although it also denotes "brightly colored or shining", and appropriately, "boastfulness and pride". If the intended meaning was "star", the Hebrew word for star , kochob "a round rolling object", would have been used.

The phrase, "son of morning" should read "son of the dawning", as in "the earliest" or "the first" -- God created the angels at the dawn of all of His creation. A more accurate English translation from the Hebrew should read, "O clear sounding, boasting son from the beginning", describing this rebel angel who was cast by God from the heavens. Satan is not the only "morning star" mentioned in the Old Testament. Other passages describe the angels as sons from the morning or dawning of creation:

What if god is really the devil, sent to trick believers into doing satan's work? What if all religion is a creation of the devil to enslave the believers and lead them astray from the true god? What then?

Matthew 12:22-33 (King James Version)

22 Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil , blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw . 23 And all the people were amazed , and said , Is not this the son of David? 24 But when the Pharisees heard it, they said , This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils. 25 And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation ; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand : 26 And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand ? 27 And if I by Beelzebub cast out devils, by whom do your children cast them out ? therefore they shall be your judges. 28 But if I cast out devils by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God is come unto you. 29 Or else how can one enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he first bind the strong man? and then he will spoil his house. 30 He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad . 31 Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. 32 And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come . 33 Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.

Dammit Dread, why do you keep doing this?!?!?!?!??!

^Ummm, cuz he's been chosen, duh.

Contents aside, this rant is less cogent than the average "refrigerator magnet" poem.

The devil has taken hold of your grammar, your logic, your sentence structure. This rant is an incoherent lump of related ideas re: Jesus. Seriously, you did
write this while drunk, right? Or are you so conflicted that you are inarticulate? If that is the case, improve your critical reasoning skills and put down the bible/bong.

Well Rick, I was willing to leave it at my first comment which so many seem to accept, but subsequent comments by others calls for further elaboration.

Man has free will, Seentomuch.

Adam wasn't deceived by Eve as she was by the Serpent. Eve didn't tell Adam that the fruit she told him to eat was from the forbidden tree, but he could tell she was pulling a fast one. He deliberately chose Eve over God, because Eve was sacred and alone, cut off from God, so he cut his direct connection and thus forfeited possession of Planet Earth to Satan.

That's why bad stuff happens to innocent people; the Earth belongs to Satan.

Earth was created perfectly for man, maintained by God, but God honors his Word, and Adam was allowed to do with Earth as he chose. Satan can't maintain the planet in perfect condition for health, safety and prosperity; thus corruption.

^ Dread, I have a lot of faith to sustain me, and truly wish no harm on anyone, I appreciate you answering my question on your view of the Bible. But, it is not my view.

Please wait...
