One of the reasons traffic in this town sucks so bad is drivers like you who give up their right of way to any non-inanimate object within 20 feet of the road. If a pedestrian is just standing on the curb and not at a protected crosswalk, just keep fucking driving. And go the speed limit while you're at it.

They don't want to walk halfway across the boulevard and play Frogger with the traffic coming from the other direction, so they're watching for a natural break in the traffic. And yet you *are* supposed to stop if they're stepping off the curb. If they're only looking, not stepping, use your own judgment. And try not to be so, well, cross.

You could be halfway down the street by the time they finish crossing. If you can turn, if they're not walking, fucking turn. Some people don't like crossing in front of cars if they don't have to, especially if the intersection would be totally clear if you would simply move. So... turn, or don't.

My favorite is when you are waiting to cross the street and the very last car in a long string of cars decides to stop and let you cross. Seriously no point to that.
