Guy Branum: A Gay Bash for the Ages
Guy Branum: A Gay Bash for the Ages Pat Moran

Between this weekend's scorcher and all the late-night laffs, this Bridgetown might be the death of me, or at least the wilt of me. I saw Moshe Kasher at last night's Competitive Erotic Fan Fiction at Refuge, and wow. I knew he was smart as a whip, but I didn't know he could craft such a dirty, funny, erudite story about Cthulhu's ascension. Bravo, sir! I'd tell you to go check out more of his shows at the Bridgetown Comedy Fest, but he's done for the weekend. So let's look to the future.

Here's what I'm excited about tonight:

Happy Hour with Shane Torres
, Analog, 6 pm

The prodigal comedian returns to Portland for a showcase with host Alex Falcone, Quincy Jones, and more. I'm stoked to check out Quincy Jones. Chipp Terwilliger had nothing but nice things to say about him at last night's Set List show. Plus, I'd like to check out Analog's space. It seemed a little slow last night when I poked my head in.

Support The Portland Mercury

Hey Ladies!, Bossanova, 8 pm
Maybe I can finally catch a set by Morgan Murphy. She was supposed to be in town all weekend according to the schedule, but today's her only actual day performing. She was great last time I caught her act. She's on stage with another elusive Bridgetown performer I'm dying to see, Sara Schaefer, plus lots more funny women.

Guy Branum's Gay Bash, Refuge PDX, 10 pm

Guy Branum is one hella funny man. He gets better and better every time I see him. Throw some Rhea Butcher and Solomon Georgio into the mix and it's a guaranteed great show. Word of warning! Refuge was not serving booze last night, and I suspect that will be the case tonight. Please front-load at will. Might I suggest stopping by Bunk for a set and a throat-soothing Iceberg?

Dealio alert! Passes for Saturday and Sunday are now down to $60.
