Umm Nate while I appreciate your sentiments here of 'can't everyone just get along' anyone who supports the armed occupation of public property and terrorization of an entire community for 41 days is not to be equated in any way with BLM. The delusional theories spouted by the criminal Bundys in support of a land grab for personal profit is not comparable to Teresa Raiford who said 'if it had been black folks at Malheur they would be dead'. Yes, we need dialogue between opposing views but the Bundy gang does not represent rural Oregon: neither brother is a rancher and neither is from Oregon. The Bundys are a criminal enterprise like a drug cartel or the Mafia, using violence and intimidation to advance their agenda which benefits only themselves or other who seek to steal public lands from the rest of us for personal gain. Equating the delusional supporters of the Bundys with BLM is misguided and plays right into the hands of those larger interests (corporations and the 1%) who wish to take our nation's treasured public parks and land to profit only themselves.
It's nice you had a 'kumbaya' moment in the coffee shop but those, like the Bundy Gang, who seek to undermine our democracy with their seditionist actions cannot be compared with BLM or Standing Sioux Protest. Maybe you need to read up on the millions of dollars of damage done at Malheur or the trauma experienced by Harney County earlier this year so you don't confuse the issues.
