So we now have a law that makes you spend money on court costs and lawyer fees to get money for relocation? So how much do you think anyone realistically gets after that? What a waste. This is what happens when a law is pushed through without enough thought behind it.

Either that or if a landlord wants to get rid of you without relocation costs, they will document and find a way to for-cause evict you, leaving a permanent mark on your record and ensuring that no future landlord will ever rent to you again.

Super great job, Chloe Eudaly! You are the SMRTest!

Not quite, Rooster. If the landlord is found to have broken the law—which, theoretically, wouldn't be that hard to prove—they have to pay the relocation costs, plus are hit with a penalty of three times your rent and "reasonable attorney's fees and costs."
