Attention, fans of bad movies and wisecracks: Mystery Science Theater 3000 has just announced its first-ever live tour, and one of the stops is here in Portland. MST3K's "Watch Out for Snakes!" tour hits the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall on Friday, July 28, and will bring creator Joel Hodgson, new host Jonah Heston, and robot friends Crow, Tom Servo, and Gypsy to a Portland stage. Presumably, audience participation is encouraged.

The tour is actually made up of two alternating shows: the Eegah show, which we'll be getting here in Portland, and then a "Secret Surprise Film!" late show, which sadly is NOT happening at the Portland stop. The latter is a screening of a unnamed but presumably execrable sci-fi B movie, with all the expected wisecracks. (If you really must see it, it's happening in Seattle the following night.)

However, the show that Portland will be getting includes a screening of 1962's Eegah, which MST3K originally ripped on way back in 1993. This live version consists of "all-new riffs and sketches" to accompany the Richard Kiel-starring film, and there will be video appearances from recurring cast members Felicia Day and Patton Oswalt.

In case you missed it with all the other incredible TV happening right now, Mystery Science Theater 3000 has recently been relaunched on Netflix following a record-setting Kickstarter campaign. Tickets for the Portland live show go on sale at noon on Friday, May 19.
