The principal of Access Academy, a school of 360 "gifted" first through eighth graders, resigned suddenly with a month of school left, according to the Oregonian.

Two high school students in Hillsboro were taken into to custody yesterday after a suicide hoax at Liberty High School, which caused a temporary lockdown, according to KATU.

"Oregon's Secretary of State said Wednesday morning some 86,000 current Medicaid recipients may actually not be eligible to receive the benefits," KGW reports. "Dennis Richardson said the discovery was made during an audit of the Oregon Health Authority. The figure represents about 8 percent of Oregon's Medicaid population."

"The Oregon Food Bank received a major donation of nearly 12,000 pounds of fresh apples Wednesday," KPTV reports.
