This is the right way to do it when people want things preserved, rather than just whining about "greedy investors" or whatever. Keeping up a business is expensive, particularly in an old building that needs constant repairs and renovations, bringing it up to ever more restrictive code, etc., and unless you own the land/building outright, there is always the risk of the lease terms getting more expensive when the current lease is up because what owner in their right mind wants to continue pouring money into a venture with no return on that money? Good luck to them, hopefully the community that would be bitching and whining if this building were bought out and the rents raised will put their money where their mouths are.
