Hope you've been saving up some spare cash: The Pacific Northwest's largest record show goes down on Sunday in Eugene. The Eugene Record Show has been around for three decades, and it features 100 different sellers of records and music-related ephemera. Trust me, it's big—bigger than any of the usual record shows in Portland, great as those are. Originally founded by the late Bill Finneran, the annual event is now organized by beloved Portland recordmeister Thomas Jones, who also co-runs Crossroads Music and spins around town as DDDJJJ666. Taking over an enormous ballroom in the Eugene Hilton, the show will easily have you spending the entire day browsing and not flipping through the same bin twice.

And some people do make a day of it. Sunday's show actually starts at the crack of 7 am, with an early entry fee of $15. This is when dyed-in-the-wool collectors go to buy and trade insanely rare albums for exorbitant prices. The rest of us can wake at a more reasonable hour and enter at 10 am for a fee of $3, with the show continuing until 5 pm.

For record lovers and record show attendees, Eugene is the big one of the year, and it's all happening this Sunday. But if you can't make it, there's another nearby record show in a couple of weeks: The sixth annual Longview/Kelso Record Show, hosted by the folks at the Classics and Oddities record store in Longview, goes down on Saturday, March 17 in Longview.
