If you follow wine trends you’ll know that Georgian wines are A THING at the moment. If you don’t, then all you need to know is that this country is producing some incredible wine. Les Caves wine bar’s Georgian wine experience next week has already sold out, but there's still a chance to discover the 8000-year-old history of winemaking in the region, and to taste some wines.

Our Blood is Our Wine, a documentary from director Emily Railsback, is showing at Cinema 21. She spent time in rural Georgia (unobtrusively shooting on an iPhone) exploring a winemaking tradition and culture that had almost been destroyed by Soviet rule. She also traveled to Armenia, Turkey, and Corsica to discover ancient winemaking techniques that are still used to this day (which is kind of crazy when you think about it). For an extra $2.50 (!) there’s a wine tasting as well.
