Wouldn't nit-pick unless I have found the Merc's reporting on the shooting to involve a great deal of cherry-picking of witness statements. Mr, Elifritz was someone with a history of putting the community at risk and btw a white supremacist. He committed suicide by cop. The cops fired when he tried to stab a police dog. Should they have let him stab the dog first and then waited to see if he tried to stab a person? Maybe, but the cops had to make a split second decision. You aren't going to get perfection.
