[UPDATE 6/15: Tickets quickly sold out, but a second show at 10 pm has been added. As of Friday morning 6/15, tickets are still available.]

Michelle Wolf has just announced a Portland show! The stand-up comedian, who delivered a scathingly funny set at the White House Correspondents Dinner earlier this year, will be at Revolution Hall on Thursday, August 9. Wolf gained notoriety by accurately calling White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders a liar to her face; dipshit Trump lackeys and the right-wing establishment (and, weirdly, Maggie Haberman) mischaracterized Wolf's incisive humor as belittling of Sanders' appearance, which was not the case.

Wolf, simply put, is one of the funniest and most important comedians in America right now, so this Portland appearance is a big dealβ€”made even bigger by the possibility that it might be her first-ever time doing stand-up here? Is that even possible? (I cannot find any evidence of Wolf having performed in Portland before, and the tour date archive on her website doesn't show anything, so please leave a comment if you know of a previous time she's come to town.)

Wolf cut her teeth writing for The Daily Show, and her stand-up special on HBO, Nice Lady, was one of the best comedy specials of last year. Meanwhile, her new Netflix show, The Break with Michelle Wolf, while receiving mixed reviews thus far, is, along with Full Frontal with Samantha Bee, a vital antidote to the preponderance of male-dominated comedy talk shows.

That Wolf is somehow finding time to schedule a show here, while still in the midst of her Netflix show's first season, indicates she has an incredible work ethic and a bottomless well for new jokes. Tickets for her show at Revolution Hall go on sale this Wednesday, June 13 at 10 am, and I am 100 percent convinced it will sell out, quickly.
