We got a "hot leak" from Jed Arkley of the Stumptown Improv Festival that the 2018 Festival line-up is nearly finalized. Here's the word on who's confirmed for the 2018 fest, which takes place Aug 9-11 at the Artist Repertory Theater:

White Women (LA)
Quartet (LA)
Preach (CHI)
North Coast (NYC)
The Amie and Kristen Show (PHI)
Broke Gravy (PDX)
J Names (PDX)
Forward Slash (PDX)
Battle Ax (PDX)
TwoSon (TOR)
CAMP (SEA)

That's a lot of out of town talent! It's great to see North Coast returning, as they regularly break my mind to smithereens with their impossibly proficient improv freestyle rapping. Always cranking up that ante, North Coast promises to offer historically-themed rhymes this year with their new show Anybody: An Improvised Historical Hip-Hopera. Quoting North Coast here, "Take THAT, Hamilton."

We've written about the charm of hometown heroes Broke Gravy and J Names so we'll expect them to go hard and represent Portland's reputation against the might of Chicago's Preach and LA groups like White Women and Quartet (which includes Craig and Carla Cackowski from Orange Tuxedo).

This is all prestige information and does not yet appear on the Stumptown Improv site just yet, but the full list of performers (as well as info about tickets, classes, and weekend passes) should be available soon.
