In last week’s paper, our Anti-Trump Book Club columnist Jim Berhle conducted a funny, charming, and inspiring interview with Pod Save America’s co-host and former Senior Advisor to President Obama, Dan Pfeiffer. If you haven’t read it, you really should. It was the only thing I read last week that made me feel even moderately optimistic about the future of our nation.

Tonight Pfeiffer will speak at Revolution Hall. Powell's was hoping to have Representative Earl Blumenauer in conversation with Pfeiffer, but Representative Blumenauer had to deal with some important legislation (possibly related to his call yesterday for the abolishment of ICE?). So they asked me. (Full disclosure: They asked Jim Berhle, and he couldn't do it, and then I offered.) This gives me an excuse to start saying that I pinch-hit for Earl Blumenauer when he’s busy, which was always true in my heart, but now will actually be true. I can't imagine why adding me to the stage would sweeten the deal for anyone who wasn't sold on seeing Pfeiffer tonight, but if it does, come on down and take a gander at my huge hair.
