Stay up to date on Portland news and politics. Looking for fun? Here are the best Things to Do in Portland today.
DON'T DO A BREATH: This morning we're still in the candy apple red zone of unhealthy air quality that Ned wrote about yesterday. Let's see a show of hands for people who had to choose between a hot apartment and bad breathing last night?
COOLIN' OFF: Remember when 93 degrees used to be a hot day? That was before. This is now:

UNFRIENDED: Twitter finally suspended alt right "paleoconservative" conspiracy theorist Alex Jones! (It's only for seven days). Jones was suspended for tweeting a link to a video which encouraged violence against the media. Stop that! (We're blushing 😊!)
DATAGATE: Here's a nice long piece about the activists currently facing off against the internet's big data miners. JUST LEAVING THIS HERE: New Zealand's parliament just passed a law banning non-New Zealanders from buying New Zealand residential property "as the government seeks to cool red-hot house prices."
ICYMI: NYT critic Amanda Hess has some interesting observations about our perceptions of online mobs. (I'm afraid of them.) The piece is good despite being headlined: "Some Online ‘Mobs’ Are Vicious. Others Are Perfectly Rational."
NETWORK NEWS: There always will be and only will be one Number One Network. Always.
