Get it through your head, these people do not exist.

God only knows if this will pass.

I am an atheist, but I can't say I've been discriminated against in any meaningful way. Sure, I've been made to feel left out and been forced to witness religious ceremonies of others. I've even participated in religious ceremony when it was appropriate to do so: ie not be an asshole. That is pretty much what it means to live in a diverse society. We all have our beliefs, and we don't shit on the beliefs of others when they don't affect us in a meaningfully negative way. We get it wrong when we think everyone should be included all the time. That's simply not possible. We'd all be better off if all of us simply got over ourselves.

There's the rub, bridger. It is those with power who use it to attack the less powerful. Non-believers don't have power & are vulnerable to the haters on the "religious" right, in case you haven't noticed.

Purely symbolic. Atheists and the non-religious don’t really get discriminated against, at least not in the Pacific Northwest.
